U4 Haplogroup

A blog dedicated to the U4 Haplogroup

Mesolithic foragers showed high frequencies and diversity of haplogroups U (U2e, U4, U5a)

From John Hawkes weblog, U4 mentioned.

"Ancient DNA reveals prehistoric gene-flow from Siberia in the complex human population history of North East Europe."

Welcome!

If you are here you have probably received results from a major DNA testing company telling you that you belong to haplogroup U4.

When we received our results we immediately went looking for information on what it means to be a U4. Very little was available and there was seemed to be scattered around the internet in a series of technical papers or outdated blogs.

Our purpose is to help consolidate these resources and help fellow U4s in their journey to understand our origins.

For further information check out the Haplogroup U4 Project website at Family Tree DNA.

If you have a question about the U4 haplogroup feel free to email us and we will do our best to point you in the right direction.
