U4 Greeting

Above are my HVR1 results.
Here is the same in text format: 16265G 16356C 16362C 16519C
I have created this blog to meet other U4's and exchange information. We seem to be a rare group so if you are a U4 please email me or post! I know very little about this haplogroup but hope to add information over the next few months and create a hub for U4 information.

I'm a haplogroup U4. I was tested last summer with Family Tree DNA and still have no matches in their large database. I'd be interested in hearing from other U4s from the British Isles and particularly anyone with maternal ancestors from Wiltshire. Do we know how and when U4 arrived in Britain? I wrote a short piece about my mtDNA results on my blog which can be read here:

I'm a U4. My grandmother was born in New Prague, Minnesota, USA of pure Bohemian ancestry. Some members of our family look Turkish - with very thick eye lashes. My grndmother had black hair until her death at age 88 and striking blue eyes. I know this isn't very scientific information, but I know very little else that may be useful. I'd love to hear from other U4s.

Hi Debbie, my haplogroup is U4 & I can trace my maternal line from the early colonies of New England back to England. I'm curious how we arrived in the UK as well.
